There are few good things to come of dropping your flashlight in poop, and no real advantage to losing an expensive light in the sewers…

The Thyrm Switchback has a funny name, but it’s a great accessory. It’s not just tactical, but practical. Though usually considered to be an “EDC upgrade”, most often for handheld SureFire lights, it has many workaday uses.

I’ve had the Switchback on my Surefire light for about a year ago, and it has proven to be a very useful piece of equipment in some unexpected ways.

Besides helping to keep your light in hand while manipulating your handgun (as it was originally designed to do), I’ve found multiple uses for it in my daily work. None of them were likely the sort of thing Costa or John Wick envisioned.

As a plumber, get into many situations where if I drop a tool it’s either gone or it lands in poop. Nobody likes it when your gear lands in poop, even someone who has to work around poop all the time.

The swichback allows me to hold my light – or to hang it in the work area – in various precarious situations without dropping it, without some of the snag issues and other problems that come with using a tether or dummy-cord.
